Ellen Rutt - LO7

Finding people on instagram always excites me and I have recently found Ellen Rutt an artist from Detroit. She works with bright colours and 3D shapes. She then creates compositions with these that combines collage but with 3D shapes and painting onto a background. She thinks of her work as more of a performance than an actual piece and this is something that I find really interesting. After watching a video she created for Polaroid I have discovered a fascination with her style of work and how she works so big and combines her favourite ways to work together.

Something that I really like about my work is using the big shapes but I also love painting straight onto the fabric to create textures and marks. This is something I think I will play around with in the next week in the print room as I have only used shapes at the moment so I feel I need to add some more texture into my work.
