Fauvism Inspiration. - LO7

With my project mainly being based on my childhood memories for inspiration. One of the main paintings I remember seeing in my house was Mattisse's Goldfish painting. This was in our dinning room and it always interested me the way that it is painted and the colours that is used. With this being a key memory from my childhood and my mums love of art I thought I would do some research into this movement and why Im so inspired by it.

Fauvism uses painterly effects with fun expressive marks as well as simplified collaged shapes. With a combination of chalky pastel colours contrasted with oranges and dark blues.

I think these techniques and choices of colours really work within my style and will be something that I will continue to take inspiration from.
